Dynamics 365 Project Operations: Project Tasks view

Dear all,

From Project Operations I would like to view my project tasks in Kanban format, without accessing to any project, I mean I would like to have the chance to see all my assigned tasks related to different projects and be able to work with them as a Kanban board.

Could it be possible? If yes, can you please let me know how?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, this is possible — but not natively out of the box in Project Operations.

Project Operations' built-in Task Board is scoped to individual projects, so there's no global "My Tasks" Kanban across projects without a bit of configuration. The good news is it's achievable with tools already in your tenant.

The recommended approach: Model-Driven App + Kanban Control

Project Operations stores its data in Dataverse, so you can surface it in a custom view:

    1. Go to Power Apps → Solutions and create a new Model-Driven App

    2. Add the Resource Assignment table (msdyn_resourceassignment) — this is where assigned tasks per resource live, not on the task table directly

    3. Create a view filtered to: Bookable Resource = Current User, and pull in related task columns (task name, project, status, dates)

    4. Enable the Kanban control on that view — go to Controls → Add Control → Kanban, and set the grouping column to a Choice/Option Set field such as msdyn_taskstatus (note: percentage-based progress fields won't work as Kanban columns — it must be a Choice field)

    5. Publish and share the app with your team

    6.

The result is a personal Kanban board showing all your assigned tasks across all projects, with drag-and-drop status updates — which is exactly what you're describing.

A couple of things to be aware of:

    • You'll need Power Apps (which is typically included in your D365 licence) and basic maker access

    • A system administrator or Power Platform maker will need to set this up initially, but once published it works for all users

    • If your organisation uses Project for the Web rather than the full Project Operations, the same Dataverse approach applies

    •
    Or:

Option 2 — Use Project for the Web + Project Operations integration
Option 3 — Sync tasks to Planner (if enabled)

    Thanks,
