I have some customers that have previously posted transactions. Now, I've set the customer to blocked, for all transaction types. However when I go to the customer field in various parts of the system, I can still see the customer. Is there anyway to have the search no longer show blocked customers?
Blocking the customer won't hide the customer but will just prevent you from posting transactions for that customer.
You would need to use filters to look at a list of not blocked customers:
This should work on most reports and the customer page but may not be available everywhere.
Some clients i've worked with also add leading "Z"s to the number or name so it's easier to filter and separate them from other active customers. You can use a filter similar to the Blocked filter:
