thanks Andy M., This method works as I really wanted
Thanks.....
Then I agree that the simplest way would be to create a new ItemLookupCode, set this item to be Non-Inventory, Non-Taxable (check your local tax laws), non-discountanable, and must prompt for price.
If the customer agrees to donate the money, the cashier would have to sell this item to the transaction, and manually type in the price of the charity amount. It will show on the receipt as an item sold, and you would be able to run a report on this item lookup code. If you wanted this to be more automated, then you would be looking at creating a custom add-on package.
only specific transactions and and must be displayed on the customer's ticket to state that he gave the money to charity
Henry, correct me if I am wrong, but I think what you are trying to do is...
Lets say the Total Due for the customer is $1.85. You want to be able to run a report that rounds each transaction up to the nearest dollar, and the difference goes to charity. So if the Total Due was $1.85, the report should show that $.15 will go to charity.
If the Total Due is $23.14, then the report should show that $.86 goes to charity.
1) Do the above examples sound correct?
2) Would this charity apply to all transactions, or only specific transactions?
Why not set the charity up as a Sales Rep and create a commission scheme? This way you could run a report and figure out how much you would have to give to them?
ok , my problem is that I need that when the customer comes to pay the difference in cash cents a share, for the work of charity, example if you pay $ 1.85 to $ 0.15 cents a share for the charity.
Not if I gave a very clear understanding.
II think the simple answer is to create a charity item and enter the amount for it.
The complicated answer is to write an add in for it. I don't know if there is anything like that out there,
and of course I could write one for you (so could other programmers).

The difference of what? The remaining dollar? You dont give much detail.
Examples are helpful.
