Vendor locations per itemid

ReportReport

So, I am working on a report to get the nearest vendor location based on the company location. I can get all the vendor addresses from a known query but the end user wants me to use the custvendexternalitem and take the address from [exnotes_custom] column. However, sometimes the data is not there in the column. Is there any way I can get vendor addresses based on the itemid associated with the vendor?

    Hi Kulsum,

Can you elaborate if the client is on one location or multiple? What do you mean by a "known query"? The column exnotes_custom can indicate this is a manually configured custom field. What is the exact purpose of this field? Most likely it is storing addresses, but probably also other details? In case the column is not always filled, then discuss with the client for a fallback place where to find the address. The end user may have a preference for the solution direction, but the consultant/solution architect should translate the requirement to a feasible solution.
What tool are you intending to use for the report? Are you calling some services to find the distance between the addresses?

    Hi,

You cant get the address directly from the itemID. However, you have the vendor account no. on the custvendexternalitem, so you can link the vendor account with the address.

The issue you have to solve:

    • you need to have an external item no. maintained for all vendors
    • There can be multiple addresses on the vendor. One for invoicing, one for deliver, one generall for business. One address is a primary, while the others are not. So you have to define which address you will link to the vendor acc. no. There could be also addresses that arent valid anymore, so you have to filter by date as well.

    Kind regards, Adis
