Default "contains" rather than having to use Wildcard on any search on Mobile App

Is it possible to make the Warehouse App search function default to contains rather than equals?

In our company, POs have 5 leading characters and a hypen (ABC-PO123456) so manually typing this on a small tablet, with gloves on, in a warehouse....is painful.

Ideally we want to just type in (for example) 456, and it will show me the PO's with 456 in the number (which will only be a few).

But to do that for now we have to type *456, which means pressing the special character button on the tiny keyboard, then the *, then back to ABC.

    Good day,

In which warehouse app screen do they enter the PO number? Can you maybe share something about your process?

    Best regards,

Thanks for the reply. We are still in UAT, but we are using the "Purchase receive (label Print) screen".
It asks to "enter purchase order number" and we want to just enter the last 3-4 numbers and then select the PO rather than enter the whole thing.

    Hello,

Try using the Detour functionality on the PO scan screen.

Create a Data Inquiry menu item using the Purchase Order table as the data source

Add this menu item to any main menu.

In the Mobile Device Menu Steps, override the Step ID with this new menu item.

Then, add this new menu item to the Detour setup.

When the user is on the PO number selection screen, they can click the Detour button and select the relevant purchase order from the list  it will automatically pass the selected value into the PO number field.

    Good day,

Thanks for answer. I think, the detour feature can be good option.

I've written a blog about detours a while ago. Link to the blog: https://laurensvandertang.wordpress.com/2024/02/08/detours/
