ZUGFeRD export not correct

Hello,
I have set up both XRechnung and ZUGFeRD in BC version 28, german localization.
When exporting the XRechnung, a PDF and XML file are created. That part is all correct.
However, when I switch to ZUGFeRD, a PDF and XML file are also created, but not correctly. The PDF is not in PDF/A format, and no XML is embedded either.
The XML is created separately, but it is not readable. Has anyone of you already had experience with the setup, or is this an MS Bug?

Thanks and best regards,
Yvi

    Hello Yvi,
In standard Business Central, ZUGFeRD should generate one PDF/A document with the XML embedded inside it; the separate XML may still appear in the E-Document files/logs, but the customer-facing ZUGFeRD output must be the hybrid PDF/A file. Since your result is a normal PDF without embedded XML, this is not the documented behavior. First confirm that the E-Document Service Document Format is set to ZUGFeRD, the correct service is assigned through the customer’s Document Sending Profile, and that you are sending/exporting through the E-Documents process, not simply printing/downloading the posted invoice report. Also test using the standard invoice report layout without custom extensions. If the issue remains in a clean BC28 sandbox on the latest cumulative update, I would raise a Microsoft support ticket with the E-Document and Integration Logs, because it is likely a product issue rather than expected setup behavior.

    Thanks for the information!
The error was in the workflow that needs to be used for this (even without a third-party provider). If it's correctly configured and activated, the PDF/A export with XML file will work correctly. I'm closing this threadThanks for the information. The error was in the workflow that needs to be used for this (even without a third-party provider).
