Hi, Is there an efficient way to configure the company accounts and account type for each legal entity with Bank & Ledger combinations for Company accounts? When I export Journal Control V2 data entity it is coming through as blank even when there is data under the legal entity. Please advise what would be the data entity which can be used for importing data for configuration.

Thanks

    Hello,

There are several ways in fact.
For what purpose do you need to do this set?

    Thank you,
    Giorgio

    Hi CU04091153-0,

    A few questions:
    1. Have you exported the data entity through an Export data project ?
    2. Do you have the fields mapped as depicted below?

    3. Do you have expected data especially for fields like Account structure, Account Type and JournalLegalEntity populated?

    Suggestions:
You can use LedgerJournalControlV2Entity or BankAccountEntity(with some custom fields) as an entity to address the requirement in hand to have Company and Account Types with Bank combinations as a data entity. Don't think so there are any data entities that provide a combination of Bank and Ledger combinations for Company accounts.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.

    Hi Giorgio,

This is to exercise control on the journal ensuring that only Bank and Ledger account types can be processed within it for that particular legal entity. What is the best way to do for multiple of legal entities?

    Hi Navneeth,

Please find my answers below to your questions

1- Yes I have expoerted Journal control v2 data entity from DMF.
2- Yes I have fields as per your screenshot for data entity Journal control v2
3- I have data configured for the Fast tab - Which accounts types can be posted? under Journal control.

I have exported Journal Control v2 data entity but the existing data does not show up under the export. Do you know why would the export be blank even though there is data?

    Hi CU04091153-0,

I tried the scenario you mentioned and the recommendation is to deselect Skip staging and try the export of Journal Control V2.

The Journal Control V2 will export the data with the expected records (With Skip staging disabled). This should export the expected records.

    With Skip staging enabled.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.

    Hi Navneeth,

Thanks for testing. As advised, I attempted to export by deselecting skip staging but it did not export the records when there is data configured however no records were exported.

    Hi CU04091153-0,

Alongwith the Account types that can be posted you need to define the Segment values too. A question has this been defined? If the segment values are not defined then the Journal Control exports with 0 values. Checked the code that defines the business logic for Journal control data to be exported. The segment values definitions are the driving factor for the Journal control data to be exported.

    Segment Values Definition:

    With Segment values defined:

    With No Segment values defined:
Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.

    Hi CU04091153-0,

Has your issue been resolved. Once you define the segment values the data should show up in your data export from D365 FO because the segment values drive the Journal control process.
