Transactions for SKUs?

Hi:
 
Is it possible to conduct a transaction to move an item from one SKU to another? 
 
If so, would you need to use item reclassification journals to move from location to location and therefore SKU to SKU?

    Transactions for SKUs?
    sku is set up to mainly manage item planning parameters per location. SKU is different from item variants. If user move a shirt, red to another location, the item variant will still remain to be shirt, red. Sometimes people use sku and item variants interchangeable in BC, which causes confusion.

    Yes, this is similar to Variants. It cannot be adjusted directly, but can only be adjusted through postings such as item journal.

    Transactions for SKUs?
    A SKU is essentially an extension of an item card, tailored for specific locations or variants. It is used to store information unique to that location or variant. As a result, items aren't typically moved from one SKU to another. If you’re referring to transferring items between locations, you can use the item journal, item reclassification journals, or transfer orders; the end result will be the same.
