Fixed asset book value report

This report does not show disposals, since disposed of fixed assets are not in there. Which report would actually show the fixed asset disposals, and preferably in detail the entries, dollar amounts, gain/loss?

I have the same question (0)

Hi, im not sure which report you are running but if you run the “Fixed Asset - Book Value 01” report you can see disposals in that period:

You can see I have a starting acquisition cost for my vehicle of 55,555$ and an addition of 50,000$. Then I have my disposal of that asset.

Columns can be a bit squished so I usually send this report to excel.

Hi, Book Value 02 is the one for movement, it splits additions and disposals over the period, which Book Value 01 doesn't. For tying the disposal back to the ledger there is Fixed Asset - G/L Analysis, that's what I use to prove disposal entries against the FA posting group accounts.

For the detail with amounts I'd skip the reports and just go to FA Ledger Entries, filter FA Posting Type on Proceeds on Disposal and Gain/Loss, you get every line with the asset, the document and the amount, and it goes to Excel in two clicks. If it has to be printed, Fixed Asset Register or Fixed Asset Document Nos. give the same detail in report form.

One thing to watch, the book value reports run on the depreciation book you pick on the request page, so if disposals are posted in more than one book the totals won't tie.

Which report were you running when the disposals went missing?

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.

►  If this solved it, marking it verified helps others too.
