I am a relative newbie to NAVs, so apologize if this question is answered elsewhere or is obvious. One of our vendors is changing their legal name. We would like to update the vendor's name in NAVs, but NOT update the historical records. Is this possible?
Essentially, we want any record pre-name change to use the old name, and any record post-name change to use the new name.
Example:
On Dec 1 2023, Vendor changes name from A to B.
We want to update the name of the vendor in NAVs from A to B
We want all records before Dec 1 2023 to reflect the name A
We want all records after/including Dec 1 2023 to reflect the name B
Hi, this is standard behavior, and not just the name, if you change the data on the vendor card except the primary key, Vendor Number, it will only affect the newly created records. You can do some simple tests in the test database.
