Inter-company Dimensions

Dear Members,

I have configured a default dimension in source company & destination company. But while creating a transaction dimension is created in source company. But when a transaction is being sent to destination company the destination company’s default dimension is not being created in inter company journal. For example, I have configured default dimension value dept ( Admin) while creating a transaction in company A and sending it to destination company, company B where default dimension value dept is configured as ( Finance). But I couldn’t get the default value in inter company journals in company B. Kindly Suggest me if I have missed anything in configuration setup to achieve this through standard functionality in Business central.

Thanks in advance,
sneha

This might be helpful for resolving your issue:

In Business Central, default dimensions from the destination company (Company B) do not automatically apply in Intercompany Journals. The source company’s dimensions are carried over instead.

    What You Can Do:

    1. Check Intercompany Dimension Mapping â€“ Go to Intercompany Setup > Dimensions and ensure proper mapping between companies.

    2. Manually Update Dimensions â€“ After the journal is created in Company B, adjust the dimensions before posting.

    3. Custom AL Code Solution â€“ If needed, an AL extension can auto-apply Company B’s default dimensions. Since this requires development, consider reaching out to a Microsoft Partner or developer for assistance.
