Business central on prem hotfix install / cumulative update

Hello Maxwell,

You need to install a newer version of environment and when you get your new database you should need to restore your data to newer database.

The process is a bit more complicated than in the SaaS environment because in the SaaS environment, you do not need to do manipulations with your database, you should be careful just with your extensions.

A process on the on-prem environment will be something like this:

- Backing up the existing database.
- Installing the new version of Business Central.
- Restore and upgrade the database schema to match the new version.
- Migrating data as needed. For data migration, there are a lot of standard ways and free extensions that can help you.

I do not know an easier way.
