Hi Community,

I have some queries, I hope anyone can help me.

At Phys. Inventory Journal, I would like to find out below.

1. If I don't tick the "Item not on Inventory", does it means that, by default, navision will only populate those items that have quantity in the Physical Inventory journal lines?

2. If I don't tick the "Include Item without transactions", does it means that, by default, navision will only populate those items that do have any historical transactions?

3. What purpose does it server to have Include Item without transaction, since if the quantity of the item is zero, why still count the cycle of that item?

Thank you !

Regarding the third point, it is actually easy to understand, because Phys. Inventory Journal cannot add lines manually. For example, when taking inventory, there is one more item A in the location, which cannot be entered into the NAV through Phys. Inventory Journal, so this setting is retained.
However, if you encounter this situation, you can ignore this setting and post to the system through Item Journal.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

Yes, that's correct. The journal will only be populated with item's that have a quantity that's not zero.

    2. If I don't tick the "Include Item without transactions", does it means that, by default, navision will only populate those items that do have any historical transactions?

Yes, that's correct. The journal only only be populated with item's that have had transactions.

    3. What purpose does it server to have Include Item without transaction, since if the quantity of the item is zero, why still count the cycle of that item?

Essentially, it provides a comprehensive overview of all inventory items, ensuring that nothing is overlooked, even if no transactions have been entered in the and the quantity is zero. A stock count is to validate what you have physically vs what was entered in the system. While not the most common scenario, it can be possible that you have an item physically that was never entered in the system. If you don't include items without transactions, these items won't appear in the journal.

Additionally, many businesses are required to account for all inventory items for auditing purposes, which ensures compliance with financial and inventory management regulations.
