Hello,
We have a Dynamics Sales environment connected to F&O via Dual Write. On some records, we encounter errors when trying to change ownership of a record (these same erros also happen when trying to update other fields, but owner updates are the prime example). Below is the error we receive:
ExceptionFromPluginExecute: Microsoft.Dynamics.Integrator.DualWriteFpRuntime.Plugins.PreCommitPlugin
ExceptionRetriable: False
ExceptionSource: PluginExecution
OriginalException: PluginExecution

Basically, we have determined that Dual Write will not change the owner because there are closed quotes on the record and cascading rulesare attempting to change the owner on a closed quotes and Dual Write does not allow this.
That said, we have attemped to change the cascading rules with no success, and we have been working with Microsfot for almost a year to try to resolve this with no luck. Microsoft suggested they try putting a filter on the cascading rules to bypass attempting to look at closed quotes and that seemed to work in our test environment, but there were concerns about pushing this to a production environment in case the status of quotes would be incorrect in F&O. Also, Microsoft determined this would not be a good fix. They then suggested all we neded to do was delete old Dual Write Runtime Configurations. We attempted this in our test environment and it had no effect other than to interfere with our current environment refresh.
Now we are back to the drawing board with Microsoft. This is a very common occurence for us as we often need to change ownership of records when salespeople leave or change territories and this is interfering with our commission payments.
I am curious if anyone else has encountered this issue before as our CE/F&O setup really is pretty standard and not customzed as far as Dual Write is concerned. Does anyone have any suggestions for workarounds?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Bryan
