Hi,

I have created a new template for VendInvoiceJournalLineEntity same as standard but added tax related fields. The tax related fields are unmapped are export is working fine. But while import it is not publishing without giving journalBatch number and dataarea id as they are key fields. the template is added by replacing the standard template in docuTemplate form .

Below are the issues I am facing:

1.Want to populate batch number in line entity same from header entity(header entity is not duplicated). When refreshed it should pick the same batch number lines.

2.While publishing I do not want to add journal batch number and dataraeaid fields in line column. it should publish without them.

Can i default the values or do i need to add relation.

I have added relation of journalbatch number as below.

Please help.

Hi @PriyaDutta,

Changed the category to Dynamics 365 Finance as the screen clip looks a Visual Studio screen clip and is related to D365 Finance.

A few questions:

1. Instead of creating an all new template for VendInvoiceJournalLineEntity what's the reason for adding a new custom entity? Is it to make it a global entity?

2. Have you added these templates to the Office templates under Organization administration?

Suggestions:

1. The relationship is correct with the VendInvoiceJournalHeaderEntity and is required for the Journal batch number to be picked up on the Line entity level.

2. Under the design node, you can choose the fields to be removed at the line level. Assuming you have tried this on the Excel add-ins when the Dynamics Connector loads up with all the set of available fields.

Thannks for your response.

I have created a new entity because we do not want to change the existing standard entity . So i have tried to duplicate the existing VendInvoiceJourLineEntity.

I have also added the new template mapping my entity to Document Templates under Common>Office integration.

I have clicked on new and added new template but gave the same name as existing "VendInvoiceJournalTemplate" which replaced the existing template with the new one.

When I try to open in Excel , the new template opens and I am able to see my new entity as below in Data connector. all new tax fields are also present and everything works fine.

But now the problem is:

1.while I publish (without adding journal batch number , dataareaId ) - Publish is not working , shows below error

2. When i add the fields journalbatch number and dataarea id in my line. Then I get the below error.

My query is :

Do I need to add the unique keys (batch number and dataareaid). Can I auto populate them from header entity directly ? existing Journal Line template did not have these unique fields added to line in excel. I want the same way.

My requirement ( duplicate the existing VendinvoiceJournalLine Entity to add tax information (HSN Code, SAC code, Tax rate type, vendor location, company location (from transtaxinformation table)
