How to delete an already used Retail Discount

If new retail discounts are frequently created and used in a company, but are limited in time, it makes sense to delete them again after use so that the list of discounts remains clear.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to delete a discount once it has been used in a transaction. The error message then appears:

So it seems to be possible to change a discount completely and continue using it (which then makes the link to a transaction obsolete), but not possible to delete it.
Or does anyone know a way to delete it and am I missing something?

That is a valid point. Delete function checks if the promotion is linked to any transactions. If you want to delete the discount for housekeeping and keeping the DB small. You can set the retention period for discounts in retail parameters.
