Dear team,

I would like to know is the Check-in and deployment process is same in Unified devlopment environment.

I mean to say the process which we followed for Cloud hosted environment.

Kindly give me the thoughts. Thanks!

In the Unified Development Environment, the overall process is similar to the Cloud-hosted environment, but it is more integrated with modern ALM and Dataverse. From Visual Studio, we build the model and then use the Deploy option from the Dynamics 365 > Deploy > Deploy models to online environment menu to deploy the selected model to the Unified Dev environment. This synchronizes the code with the online environment. If there are data model changes, we can either select the synchronize database option during deployment or run synchronize database separately afterward.

For source control, we connect Visual Studio to our Azure DevOps Git repository and use standard Git commit and push for code check-in. So conceptually the steps are the same — build, deploy, sync, and check-in — but the Unified environment is more cloud-integrated and aligned with Azure DevOps and Power Platform tooling.

    Hi,

As Sourav mentioned, it is similar. From a DEV machine point of view, you have an additional step to deploy the model to the online environment after a successful build.

For source control, Microsoft still offers TFTC, but is now recommending GIT. The deployment to other environments is similar as before when you are using DevOps Pipelines. You can learn more here:
