Assemble to Order within Assemble to Order

Hi:

There's an Inventory Bill of Material (BOM) marked in the Item Card as "Assemble-to-Order".  This is the parent BOM.

One of its components is, also, "Assemble-to-Order".  This is the child BOM.

When a Sales Order is created for the parent BOM, an Assembly Order is created for it.

But, no Assembly Order is created for the child BOM.  You have to manually create its Assembly Order.

Is this by design?

    Yes, that's exactly right.
I have tested it before, if you want to create an Assembly Order for a sub-bom, you need to customize it.
