How can you handle pharmaceuticals in D365? I need to set up D365 for pharmaceuticals and tracking the original manufacturer's lot/batch number is essential. I don't want it as the supplier batch number using supplier registration on the update line > registration function. I want it as the primary batch number in D365 when receiving pharmaceuticals without having to create it beforehand. It needs to capture the manufacturer's batch number as the primary batch number because that is how pharmaceutical governance work. You don't use a preconfigured batch number and then just link it as the supplier batch number. It needs to replace the primary batch number at receipting. Can someone please explain to me how this is possible through configuration? Surely Microsoft did not design a system where you can't track the Manufacturer's batch number as the primary batch number. This is not only essential in pharmaceuticals but all process manufacturing and supply chain. So, if Microsoft did not design this to be possible you cannot use D365 SCM for any process manufacturing goods. And surely that is not the case. Please can someone who actually knows how the system works explain to me how you do this. Because it is not through supplier registration on the update line > registration function and normal batch tracking in D365 SCM. Please assist because I can't find the solution anywhere.
