Import Payroll Journal - csv file upload

Hello

I am running into an issue with uploading a csv file import via the Import payroll journal facility on the General journal page.

Mu understanding from some other links …

It is failing as it seems to be looking for an IIF file type (Quickbooks/Ceredian). While I can see this extension installed on the UK version of BC, I still thought I could work with a simple csv file to upload.

I created the data exchange definition (see attached) but if fails as expecting the IIF file type when importing.

Also, the articles refer to a field setting in the General Ledger setup page which no longer seems to exist (Payroll Trans Import Format) in v 28 of BC.

Maybe someone can provide some guidance?

Which button are you using for the payroll import into BC? Business Central has a standard import tool/utility for quickbooks but you want to make sure you are using the import button related to the General Ledger Setup payroll import page.

Make sure you select Payroll > Import Payroll File and don't select Payroll > Import Payroll Transactions

The payroll transactions uses a quickbooks type file. The import payroll file uses your data exchange definition as it is configured and set on the general ledger setup table.
