Unable to deploy custom SSRS reports in UDE environment

Hi experts,

I'm currently facing an issue deploying reports in a UDE environment. I understand that the old method of right-clicking and selecting Deploy Reports is no longer valid. From what I’ve gathered, we now need to deploy the model to the online environment, and that should automatically handle the report deployment.

However, in my case, this isn't working as expected. When I try to run the report, I get the following error:
“Unable to find the report design x.”

This seems to indicate that the report isn't being deployed properly. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any steps I might be missing during the deployment process, or any configuration settings I should double-check?

Any suggestions or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

You can try to rebuild and deploy the entire model.
Does this problem only occur with this specific report?

Hi,

When building your solution or model, did you enable the option to build reports as well?

Hello @Rui Faria and @André Arnaud de Calavon,

Yes, I built the model with the 'Build Reports' option enabled, and I’ve also tried rebuilding and deploying the entire model. However, the issue persists across all custom reports.

Interestingly, when I attempt to deploy the model directly from Visual Studio, we never got the reports.

On the other hand, we have a DevOps pipeline that releases to a "Test" environment, which is on the same tier, and it seems to follow the exact same deployment process. Surprisingly, deploying through the pipeline actually works. Obviously, this approach isn’t viable because it requires checking in to source control and triggering multiple pipelines builds just to view the report.

I have the same issue and have an open MS support ticket, I am on 10.45
When building the solution or model i have the "Build Reports option enabled"

I also tried different combinations, including building first and doing a full sync

MS support had me also build with cross references and i see these two errors with SRSReportDeploymentHelper and SrsReportManager

I am still waiting for a resolution as everything they have said to fix issue isnt working

I also tried to add the dll's manually to my reporting project

I have two pipelines one for LCS sandbox T2 and one for a test environment that is a UDE and if i check in the report and send through the pipelines everything works correctly but deploying to online environment isn’t working for me.

Have you tried reconnecting and reprovisioning the F&O Developer tools using PPAC UI? Looks like the SSRS Reporting framework components are broken.

Update,

Deleting and re-provisioning the environments several times and eventually the above error went away (still no good answers from Microsoft)

UDE's worked for a day and now I am getting this new issue with reports, seems to be a known issue with Microsoft
