Hi,
I’m working on a segment‑based journey where contact records can be added at any time.
Here’s the issue I’m running into:
If the journey has been running for a few weeks and I add a new contact, they receive all of the previously‑scheduled emails in rapid succession. I’m trying to prevent that from happening.
Current Journey Structure
-
Segment (Contacts + people who submit a registration form)
-
Attribute check: Event registration?
• Yes → Exit
• No → Continue -
(no path) Attribute check: SegmentMember – Created On
• Created before XX date → Exit
• No → Continue -
(no path) Attribute check: SegmentMember – Created On
• Created before XX date → Exit
• No → Continue
What I’m trying to determine is: Which attribute is actually associated with a contact record at the moment they are added to a segment? I want to use that value so new contacts follow the correct path.
I’ve discovered that “Created On” refers to the date the segment itself was created, not when the individual record was added.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Example screenshot below
