An issue we encountered in Business Central, When we enable the "Enable Data Check" option in the General Ledger setup and change the dimension values on a journal line for an account with the default dimension set to "Same Code" for the value posting type in the master, the application crashes.

BUG - Issue with “Enable Data Check” in General Ledger Setup.

I have gone through the attachment, and the described step is the default functionality. If you have selected Same Code in Value Posting, it means the dimension code and dimension value code, such as "SALES," are mandatory. The system will throw an error while posting the document if the value is changed.

If you want to change the dimension at posting time, you can select Code Mandatory in Value Posting instead.

Enable Data Check: Specifies whether Business Central will validate the data you enter in documents and journals while you work. Messages will be shown in the Journal Check FactBox.
