Is there any way to restrict editing of the manifest file in a recurring integration import project of DMF in D365FO?

    Hi Martin,
     
    Well, I want to restrict import if the manifest file is modified in anyway, so that the number of fields received in the data file would remain unchanged. This is more like a parity check.

    Okay, so you have users who imports a package. There is no way how you'd prevent users to modify they files on their machines if they want to.
    You potentially could check whether the imported manifest is the same as another manifest (or just its hash) stored somewhere else.

    Yes, that is correct.
     
    And I agree the users can modify the file, but how or where to check for the manifest file hash in x++?

    You'll need to decide how you can get the hash and whether it's possible at all. Since you haven't given us any information related to that, I can't give you any suggestion.
     
    Then you could probably extend DMFPackageImporter.importFromPackageV2() or something like that, get the manifest file, calculate its hash and compare it with the other hash.
     
    But if I were you, I would want to learn more about the actual business problem (before diving to implementation details), to see whether the suggestion is really a good solution of the actual problem.
