How to implement a custom lookup for SSRS report parameters in D365 FO?

Hi everyone,

In Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, how do you implement a custom lookup for SSRS report parameters instead of allowing free-text input?

For example, if we need a lookup like Fiscal Year or any master data:

  • How can we control the parameter UI?

  • How do we override the default lookup behavior?

  • What is the recommended approach to fetch and display values dynamically?

Also, is using a UI Builder class the standard/best practice for achieving this? Would appreciate if anyone can share the recommended approach or best practices

    First of all, consider using/creating an EDT with the required reference. If code is needed, the UI builder is the place that the framework intentionally provide for such UI logic.

    Yes, the UI builder is the recommended for your requirement. 
    You can also set the filters to the Lookup using this.
