Default financial dimension getting set on fixed asset during acquisition posting in 10.0.44+

Good morning,

We are updating to 10.0.45 from 10.0.43 and are experiencing a change in behavior when posting "Inventory to fixed asset journal".

In 10.0.43, if a financial dimension was used (vendor) on a journal line, it would post the voucher to the matching offset account as expected. But, the default financial dimension on the fixed asset itself would not be changed. Therefore when generating a depreciation proposal journal, the lines did not have the vendor financial dimension set. This was the desired behavior as this financial dimension is not part of the accounting structure for the depreciation account.

However, starting in either 10.0.44 or 10.0.45, this has changed. Whenever acquiring a fixed asset using the "Inventory to fixed asset journal", and if a vendor was set on the financial dimension, it would also set the default financial dimension on the  fixed asset. Now when creating the depreciation journal, it is using the defaulted financial dimension for every line. I have not been able to find any new parameters in the fixed asset module where this behavior can be turned on/off. I don't see anything in feature management. Maybe I'm just not searching for the correct terms. Also do not see this mentioned in the "What's new" articles for either 10.0.44 or 10.0.45.

Is anyone else experiencing this or know how to turn this off?

Thank you in advance!

@CA Neeraj Kumar, I did find that feature, but it does not appear to be enabled in the environment.

The description of the feature talks about creating subledger entries against a fixed asset if there are any changes to a referenced PO's invoices, once inventory is recalculated. The behavior I'm seeing is specifically at asset acquisition.

We'll create the fixed asset record, adding a business unit to the default financial dimension on the created SLSL book, and leave the vendor blank. Once inventory is acquired using the "Inventory to fixed asset" journal, the default financial dimension for the vendor is added to the book.

    Hi,

Please check the behaviour for this feature in your case, since MS has made changes to consistent data in Subledger and Ledger, it could be the reason for current behaviour.

Feature name: Post the inventory adjustment to the fixed assets subledger

    Regards,
    Neeraj Kumar
