Hi,
One of my clients is asking to shift from AzureDevOps to GitHub as they use it for other development. I have not used a GitHub repository for D365FO  Implementation before.
Kindly help me configure it and the steps or any guide to achieve this

Best Regards
Arun Garg

    Hi @ArunGarg

Please migrate all your TFVS changes into Git and please find more information on the below one.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/repos/git/import-from-tfvc?view=azure-devops

    Thanks,
    Subra

    Hi Arun,

Other things to know, git is very different than traditional TVFC and there is learning curve for developers. Often there are issues with code merge and check in remote branch. These issues are not with Git itself but as there are different steps involved in code versioning process and developer may miss here and there during this learning time.

I would recommend to pay close attention during initial time and have some session with Developers to define end to end process.

The documentation page will help you with some steps, but remember that it's about migration to a Git repo hosted in Azure DevOps, not GitHub. It's still Git, therefore the core of the source control system is the same, but many other things (such as all the things around "Import repository" in Azure DevOps) won't apply to you.

By the way, you need to decide whether you want to move just the code repository and keep using other Azure DevOps features (such as build automation and work item tracking), or you want to use GitHub for the other things as well. The decision may significantly change the size and complexity of the project.
