Hi Chetan,
There are 2 ways to prevent planned orders to be generated for the stores that are closed. Setting working calendar to Close will not help in preventing the Master plan engine to generate planned orders. This action will primarily influence the planned dates for receiving and shipping activities.
1. Change the coverage group to "Manual" in the Item coverage group page for the stores that are closed. In order to make this effective use the "Bulk update" feature. You need to update the coverage group to the previous value when the stores are open again.
2. On the Warehouse master page, in the Master planning TAB, set the flag Manual to Yes for Item coverage . In order for this to work, you need to make sure that Storage dimension group used on the items has the "Coverage plan by dimension" parameter enable.
When it comes to the forecasting, if you are using Demand planning app, the app has a feature that allows you you freeze a period of time for the desired dimension combination.
If you are using Planning optimalization -"Execute demand forecast for a certain period of time" can be consider to prevent forecast generation in a certain period of time.
If none of this options are used, you may consider to explore the demand forecasting parameters, manage forecast dimensions and filter item allocation keys to exclude the closure period. You may consider to adjust the forecast horizon to exclude the closure period.
Best regards.
