How to set a default value for Master Plan on Net Requirements screen

Every time the net requirements screen is opened, default master plan is set to the value of default dynamic plan. I have to set the default dynamic plan to 'Static' under master planning parameters. Please see below.

Is there a way I can change it to another Master Plan without changing the default dynamic plan. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

    Hi Mayukh,

A company might choose to work with just a dynamic plan, or it can use both static and dynamic plans.

    Please refer to this article:

Hi Charlotte, thank you for the response.

I understand that, we use 2 plans - Dynamic and Static.  Please let me clarify - when I open the "net requirements" screen it always defaults to the Dynamic Master plan (as shown above).

Is there a way, the "default" master plan when opening net requirements is the Static Master Plan?

No :) it is by-design . With Planning Optimisation Dynamic  plan is going away anyway

To elaborate slightly more on the "by design" the static plan is the one that you work on with the plan from the last run, the dynamic takes into account movements since the last run, new sales orders etc. When you are looking at the net requirements you want to see the dynamic plan to see the latest picture.

The question would be, if you always use the static plan in the net requirements is why you have two plans.

That said as Alessandro says, it is all changing!

Thanks for your thoughts Steven, Alessandro.

So, currently the Static plan is the default Dynamic Plan and it runs once a week (demand is stable short term). We do not copy the Static Plan to Dynamic Plan.

We intend on using the Dynamic plan for Planned Transfers between Warehouses only. It should consider just the Production Orders that are firmed by users in the Static Plan.

Since the schedulers approve and firm Planned Production Orders after Static MP run, I was wondering if there was a way to have default plan in net requirements screen as Static.

Is there a recommended reading for Planning Optimization (besides MS articles)?
