Hi,

Good day!

How to change legal entity's primary address?

I'm trying to set No to the current primary address but it looks like toggle can't be changed.

How to update the primary address?

Is the only way to update the address is editing the previously set Primary address?

Is changing toggle can't be done?

Hi,

I was also wondering why it cant be toggled. However, the way I changed it is just by changing the address in the record with the primary address.

Hi,

The system enforces that one and only one address must always be marked as primary. To update the primary address, you must first add the new address to the legal entity, then mark it as "Primary."

Once you do that, D365 F\&O will automatically unmark the old one. Editing the existing primary address is possible too, but toggling without a replacement isn't allowed.

Hi,

System won't allow you to mark the address as Primary for new records as well when you are manually trying it. Instead, you can use Excel Addins

I have used Excel Addins and it worked.

Hi,
Does anyone know if the option to update using the Excel add-in has been blocked?
I was able to do this a few months ago for one legal entity, but now, when I follow the same procedure on another, it doesn’t work.
I’m using the same entity: “Party postal address V2.”

Hi Sha02,

The alternative approach is to export data using data entity DirPartyLocationPostalAddressV2Entity (with label Party postal address V2) edit the field called IsPrimary from Yes to No and re-import with as an incremental data load into D365 FO. This approach is useful if you are marking multiple addresses from Primary to non-Primary. This approach can be used alternatively if Excel add-in is causing issues which it does if you are updating more than 1000-1500 records at once.

Regarding the question on Excel add-in blocking, check if the add-in has been blocked by a firewall rule etc. both at the organizational level and on the Azure cloud (in case if there are any port blocking rules etc.) being applied.
