AppSource - Code Signing

Hi,
I'm planning to submit an application to the Microsoft AppSource Marketplace, and so I have contacted a certificate vendor on the same. The Certificate Vendor says .app files cannot be signed and wants us to convert the .app file into .appx file format. I have two queries on this:
  1.  How to convert .app file into .appx file?
  2.  Do Microsoft accept a signed .appx file as a Business Central app?
Thanks in advance.

Interesting, I’ve always known that when submitting an application for the AppSource marketplace certification, we use the .app file, not the .appx file. I'm not sure how the .appx file will work with Business Central, though.

    Please double check.

    Thanks
    Ramesh

    Hello,

Microsoft Business Central requires that the app file submitted to AppSource be in the .app format and digitally signed.

Converting your .app file to .appx and signing it will not meet the submission requirements for Business Central.

You should ensure that your .app file is signed directly.

You must use .app file to submit a Business Central app to AppSource.

You don't need .appx file, try ssl.com they provide esigner which you can use to sign the app.
