D365 Report, Report Output support for Toggle Visibility (Expand / Collapse)?

Hello D365 Community,

Relatively new to D365, I was working on creating an SSRS Report, created in a D365 FO project, with the aim to create Summary Lines and Details Lines that expanded and collapsed within their Tablix Row Group.

I was interested in knowing if this functionality is supported in the Report Output out of the box (the view returned in d365 after running the the report from the dialog box) as I do not see these toggles on the Report Output, and haven't come around any posts on the subject.

  • Notes:
I do see the toggles when exporting the Report Output to Excel and the behavior meets what I need with respects to collapsing groups as needed.

I don't believe my issue falls with how my groups are set; I followed documentation referenced on other forum posts as well as Microsoft Learn Center, I am interested in the limitations on the Report Output (Inside d365)

If there are any examples of reports out of the box that makes use of this functionality I would greatly appreciate being directed that way! If not I can rest easy knowing it wasn't me just missing a minor detail.

Thank you all for your time

Yeah I understand your scenario, you are letting user to do a setup and run the report as they wish.

But this is not possible using SSRS Report.

But you can add grouping, total at the form level - Here the user can add groupings and totals as they wish.

Check the below link which will be useful for you.

    Thanks,

    Hey Girish S,

Thanks for the response, I am trying to do this in the Report Output after the Report Dialog Box is processed after the Parameters are set.

As a fall back I have done what I believe you refer to in your comment, creating a radio button used in the Report Dialog Box that the user can use to change which report design is returned Summarized or Detailed.

I was looking into letting the user change the visibility of certain groups in the Report Output, Post Dialog Box, since there is a property in the Report Designer, Toggle Visibility. However I was not able to get Toggle Visibility to behave in the Report Output, the Toggle Controls are present in the Excel Export.

I understand if this isn't possible in the Report Output, the output seems pretty static, just making sure of all my options!

    Thank you,

    Hi Itsbman,

You are asking whether there is any standard report that will show summary and detail report based on toggle button on report parameter right?

    Thanks,

    Girish S.
