Workflow: Target date not found in work calendar

Hello all,

For one of our entities, the journal workflow is giving this error. Stopped (error): X++ Exception: Target date not found in work calendar
at SysWorkflowDueDateProvider-resolve
SysWorkflowDueDateProvider-resolveDueDate
SysWorkflowQueue-resume

The General journal was created on 12/31/2019 as we upgraded to dynamics 365 from AX 2012 this month, the user is not able to post the journal now as it's giving the above error. I checked the Calendar settings under the organization admin and the 2020 calendar is already setup for the whole 2020 year. The ledger calendar under GL is open for that specific entity right which is 12/31/2019 until now.

Where else I should be looking? Let me know.

We do not have a workflow time limit set under workflow editor.

Have you setup more than this single year 2020?

Do you have the year 2019 created as well?

Hello BRaza,

Which calendar type you have selected in the workflow configuration?

If you have selected Work calendar due dates then make sure that you have maintained the calendar and related setups in Organization administration > Setup > Calendars.

I do not see year 2019 created under Calendar for this entity. The year 2002 is starting from 4/30/2020 and I can't see 2020 months before april.

The calendar type selected in the workflow is work calendar due dates. Also, the year 2020 is set up for this entity under calendar setup in organization administration but I don't see January 1st to March 31st, 2020 days created in the calendar. All I see is calendar starting from April 30, 2020. Days setup for work calendar due dates are 2.

Please let me now where else to look.

Hello BRaza,

Is the fiscal year for this client from April to March?

Can you check if the work calendar is also updated with April 2019 to March 2020 or not.

If not, then can you check if it is possible to update it.

After that you can check.

The fiscal calendar is setup for Jan 1 to Dec 31 under fiscal calender GL module.

The work calendar under organization admin is setup from May 1 2020 to April 30 2021.

Also, I noticed all months under work calendar are set to closed. Do you think, it might be causing the issue?

Yes this could be a reason. Let's set that open and see if now you are able to proceed.

However; appreciate if you can share a screen shot to look into this more precisely before coming to any conclusion.
