We are using Sales Orders and Inventory Picks. We assign lots to Sales Orders, we do not reserve them. They are "surplus" reservation entries.

If we have 10 lb total of lot XYZ and two different sales orders for lot XYZ, 5 lbs assigned to each, we will get this error below if we try to post the inventory pick for 6 lb for one of the Sales Orders.
When we were on Nav, we did not get this error. It would allow the pick to post for 6 lbs.
Is there a setting to allow this behavior in BC?

From the error message, it is a Lot problem.

Error message:
Lot No. XYZ is not available on inventory or it has already been reserved for another document.

Does this problem occur if you recreate a completely new lot?

It isn't an issue with the lot. The message is correctly telling us that it is reserved for a different document. But we want to allow this transaction even so.
I am guessing we had a customization in Nav that allowed this, that we do not have in BC.

Is there a setting to allow this behavior in BC?

There is no setting for this; it's standard system behavior. Whenever a lot or serial number is added to a document or journal line, the system prevents it from being posted on another document or journal line. As you mentioned, you must have had some sort of customization that allowed this
