I want to know how to backup the data of a single table in AX2012 before I make a big update. I'm working in a private virtual machine from a client company and I don't have access to SQL Server Management Studio, so I was wondering how to backup the data of just one table, I don't need the whole database and that will take too long. Also, the AX2012 does not have version control activated.
Hi Daniel Mora,
You can export data to excel. Open table browser and press "Ctrl + t" to export data to excel.
Thanks,
Girish S,
Thank you so much Girish,
And if I want to reverse the data from the Excel to the AX again what would be the process?
I think you need to write code to import data from excel.
Also after exporting data to excel please make sure that all data from table are exported to excel. Just check the count in excel and in table browser.
Refer to the below blog for excel import.

Girish S.
Use the data import/export framework (DIXF). Just create an entity with Entity type = Table for your table.
