How can I specific kit price for a variant ?

Hello,

is it possible to override kit pricing for a variant. ? I have a Retail kit and I create multiple variants based on the kit contents, mainly sizes. e.g Kit-Large has (Kit-Item1 Large, Kit-Item2 Large) .

when I release them, I could only see the last version of the kit changes visible, and i dont have a option to change kit price for each variant.

fyi - I dont want to use item prices option available on a variant , as I need to override / change price for each item like you do in the specific KIT price screen.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hy Sarvanan,

you could you standrd pricing feature for the kit variants.

From Released product kits goto Product/Conigure. Here you can set the prices for the Kit and Components

    6443.pastedimage1617351518000v2.png

You can either set ONE price with "Specify kit price" or set the individual prices for each standard component (calculates then the kit price), and a charge for each substition compnent

First select "Specify kit price" for the kit price with the standard components OR enter the components price for each item of the standard kit. If you have substitution components you can add add charge for the substitute components.

So in this sample standard kit is 32 $ (enteres total kit price). If the lIne two item is replaced with first line item of substitute components 10$ where added at sales line and sales price will be 42 $.

When you sell at sales order the base prce will be used or another calculated (add charge amount) depending of ths selected variant.

If this does not fit, you could also define a sales trade agreement price for each Variant.

hello andreas,  the substitution is a good idea. but my concern here is, what if there are multiple variants (eg. 20+ ) , then it becomes complex.  I see variants as a feature but I am surprised to see you cannot specify a kit price to a variant or even go back & edit the variant . not sure if this is by design. thanks though.

    Hy Saravanan,

as mentioned you could create just a price list as a trade agreement with sales price for each kit variant.

I dont see how this could help. I want to change the Kit items price(s) for each variant . eg. I want to select a variant , and specify different prices to the list of items that was bundled in it.

    Hy Saravanan,

may be I did not understand your requirement. The Standard kit pricing works in this way:

    Left side (Componets):

First time after inserting all items the Base prices of the item will be summarized. The sum is displayed in Total base price and Total kit price, both are at this moment equal.

    Now you can either

    - enter individual Kit price on each component line and the sum is calculated automatically

    OR

    - use "Specify kit price" to enter the total kits sales price. The componenets prices for each line will be calculated from total kit price backwards.

    Right side (Substitution):

For each Substitution line you can enter a charge amount that will be added to the kits total price, if you choose a variant that contain that substitution line.

At Sales Order/Quotation line level the total kits prices will be calculated based on these setting automatically at run time.

But it is correct in this way we don't see the Total kits price for each possible variant.

Hi andreas,  thanks first. you are right. this is how the kit behaves. now my question is more on how to tie this kitted price to a variant.

    lets take an example.

I create variant A000-SMALL and release it, and I enter individual Kit price on each component line and the sum is calculated automatically. lets assume this is $30.

    A000-SMALL (kit)

     > Item D0001 (size - SMALL) - $10

     > Item D0002 (size - DEFAULT)- $20

I create variant A000-LARGE and do the same steps again. but I price it at $40.

    A000-LARGE (kit)

     > Item D0001 (size - LARGE) - $20

     > Item D0002 (size - DEFAULT)- $20

now sometime in future i want to change the price of variant A000-LARGE and the increase is due to one of the components (eg. just for Item D0001) , how do I do it my question. I am left with few choices,

    (1) use trade agreement - I want to adjust the prices for 'individual components' and not directly on the variant as it defeats the whole purpose of kitted pricing .

    (2) use substitutions - I dont want to adjust the price by substituting,  which is more like a round about option. eg. to just to change price for large variant why would want to substitute a small component, I wouldn't do that. we are food industry and maybe assembly ones may see this as a option.

    thanks.

    Hy Saravanan,

you can edit the Componenets Kit price of D0001 at the components Line. This is real time and it is effective immediately.

And I have to correct me. The product kits price is not calculated at run time, rather the prices for all variants are posted as trade agreement when you leave the Product kit Configure form. This can take a moment as it is executed as batch job.

So this could it make easier for you, because you just change the component's price, leave the form, and rework the trade agreement. I did this in the sample attached.

I don't know whether your sample is the real world, but for using the retail kit functionality it should be setup as follows as ONE Item A0001 (with product dimension group = retail kit) with two resulting kit variants:

    - Components:

    D0002 (size = Default)

    D0001 (size = Small)

    - Substitutes for line D0001:

    D0001 (size = large)

If you are using Item with product dimension group (size) you could also use normal BOM and BOM calculation for two variants of Item A0001 with two BOM's, maybe also BOM Configuration can be used.
