Can another user edit a re-submit a GJ workflow after being Rejected or Request Change

Hi all,
 
Can I please get some advise if another user, aside from the submitter, can edit a general ledger journal after it has been REJECTED or 'REQUESTED CHANGE' by the workflow approver.
 
It is my understanding that in case of 'REJECTED' the journal goes back to the submitter. 
Is this right?
 
What happens if the approver requests a change? Can someone else proceed editing that journal? (the original submitter is on leave during this time)

    Hi,
    Standard features don't support your needs. You can refer to this official document: Actions in workflow approval processes - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn. When a user rejects a document, the workflow process ends. When a user requests a change to a document that was submitted, the document is sent back to the originator, no one else can edit the journal.

    Hi Maria,
     
    Once the workflow is rejected, it will come back to the original submitter.  That's a standard functionality.
     
    However, in your case were the submitter is on leave try to use workflow delegation option as a workaround. when an employee is on leave, he/she can delegate the workflow.
