I have been in contact with a support engineer at Microsoft and again tried to explain to them the need for more information regarding the future of Dynamics 365 On-Premise. I want to share the answer I got from them regarding this and the text about a new version that was removed from the Microsoft site;
"Regarding the removing of the sentence regarding future on-premises release:
That statement, as a future looking statement, was creating a situation where a population of customers were consistently asking for scope, feature set, and delivery timeframes. None of which we are available to provide, and it created variations in how we responded to customers asking for information across channels. Rather than imply that there was active development underway, the statement was modified to reflect the current position.
To be clear, we removed that statement from the web as we do not have any current plan to ship a new version (v9.2+ or 10) of the on-premises deployment.
9.1.x is being sustained and updated with security and bug fixes, but no new features are planned for it.
We are currently committed to support 9.1 though 2029 ( 5 years from today ).
Should that our plans change, we will update the information on the support websites and other channels with specific information about what is going to happen and how a v-next for on-premises will evolve.
While I appreciate that this may not be the message folks were hoping for with regards to On-Premises, it is the factual position as of today and hopefully clarifies the current stance.
This does not help with customer messaging as we refer them to pages like this only to find they have changed and removed the key details.
Sadly this leaves me still in a spin and not knowing what the truth is."
