Is remaining inventory also closing inventory?
we have remaining inventory in item ledger entries, so does that mean it is the closing inventory?
The remaining quantity on the Item Ledger Entries is the quantity renaming of the incoming item transaction you are looking at. That could be a purchase, production, transfer etc.
If you you want closing inventory you need to look at the inventory field on the item table.
Is there any way I can find out the closing inventory from the item ledger entries or any report?

You could use the Inventory Availability report to show the list of items and its projected and actual inventory. This is the same field which Inge is referring about.
