Update purchase price on PO. Do we need reverse old Product receipt and post another one?

Hi all,

I have a crazy PO with >500 lines. We want to update purchase price after posting product receipt.

We updated purchase price and reconfirmed such PO. I would like to ask:

- Do we need to post another product receipt to let system update receiving amount?

- If not, when we post invoice, can system catch up new price on PO confirmation?

- Otherwise, what is the better or quickest way to update Item purchase price on product receipt

    Hi Ludwig,

    I posted PO invoice and inventory value is updated.

    Just have another question. We have not get any COGS on after selling the item in this PO?

    Can you please advise whether the issue come from PO received?

    You don't need to post another product receipt.

    When post invoice, you need to check the invoice line if the price is the latest price before posting. normally the price in the invoice line will be update price.

    Hello Ett,

    For Q1: No, you don't have to post another product receipt. The price change will be picked up when you post the invoice

    For Q2: Yes

    For Q3: You could leave your PO as is and ask your accountants at the time they post the invoice to ensure that the prices are correct. They would have to enter/update the prices and depending on your matching configuration, some additional (workflow) approvals might be needed. Doing this would not make a big difference but it might shift the workload to a different department :-)
