RMS 2.0 "You must use SQL Server management Studio"

Hi all,

I've recently de-commisioned an old SQL 2000 machine that was hosting my DB for RMS 2.0 (sp3)  I migrated the database, and it's up & running on the new SQL 2005 box, but I cannot get Store Operations Administrator to connect to it.

It keeps popping the error "You must use SQL Server Management Studio, or Server management objects"

I've enabled mixed-mode authentication,  and allow incoming connections (as this server hosts  a few other DB's)   but I cannot get it to connect using the regular method.   As I read in another thread either here or elsewhere, when I go into the "Configuration" screen, & test the connection there, it works fine..

What am I doing wrong?

Did you install backward compatibility components for SQL Server 2005 on the sql server?

I discovered that the 2005 Backwards compat. pack needed to be present on my workstations where POS was installed, but not the server since it already had it.
