Setup for a material application onto ustomer supplied parts

We are a applicator of a material onto customer supplied parts.    We are looking to replace our ageing homegrown system.

We operate similar to a manufacturer except we do not make, stock and sell.

We receive customer parts, apply our material to the parts, and send the parts back.

Pretty simple though we do have several steps (routing) and we apply some material (BOM) and then we have some detailed quality / testing specs

What version of Dynamics may fit us without overly complicating things.

We do inventory our raw materials but never put customer parts into stock.

Anyone have any similar application?

Thank You

No just pointing to the demo and to a 3rd party does not answer the question.   I have the demo installed but our scenario is special.

    This is the scenario:

We received 100,000 parts from our customer

We follow our routing steps to process

    1) Apply material to one end

    2) Put through an oven

    3) Box Parts

Looking for the correct way to do this in Business Central.   Is there any documentation that explains this scenario?

    Thank you!

    hi,

business central is one possible solution. it has a production module for manufacturing processes. routings and boms are available. for that a premium user license is needed.

an option could be the usage of assembly orders, part of BC base.

creating of invoices for your services is needed.

that can only be handled within an ERP project. What you need is asstance by an experienced consultant and/or an BC partner for defining and clarification of the processes and the needed customizations.

if you are interested you can contact me via a private message for a detailed analysis.

Thank you for that answer.   I was hoping this was a straightforward thing as we cannot be the only service company around!    Was hoping there was documentation from Microsoft about this scenario.
