Hi experts!

I can link a Purchase Order to a Project Task below, however, I can not select  "Project Planning Line No."
How can I  link a Purches Order to the Project Planning Line?

Look forward to your suggestions!

Hi, try out the new feature in Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25) below.
Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25): Replenish items for projects (Create Purchase Orders from Project Card)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

It looks like your Purchase Order Line does not meet the filter criteria for the Project Planning Line Lookup.

As an example, if you're trying to connect a "G/L" Purchase Line to an "Item" Project Planning Line.  The Purchase has to be an exact match (Type and No.) to what is listed on the Project Planning Line for the specific Task.

    Hi YUN ZHU,

    Thank you for your advice!
About the timing of "Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25):", I found the message below.
So, do you think "Replenish items for projects" will be released on November?

The Replenish Products for Projects is available in the Current BC 25 release.  Keep in mind that this is to generate Purchase Orders directly from a Project.  In my brief testing, you do not get to select which Items, it provides a list of the outstanding Items and you adjust the Quantity you wish to order prior to creating the PO(s).  That seems like a small thing, but if your Project has 100+ Items and you only want to purchase 2 of them, it is a lot of manual adjusting.

I still encourage the use of the Planning Worksheet over the new from Project purchasing.

KNOWN ISSUE: When a Purchase Order has a Project No. and Task listed on the lines, the material is consumed out of inventory upon Receipt, however the material is not posted to the Project.  This means the Planning Worksheet would see the Project Demand and suggested another Purchase.  The demand is not relieved until the Purchase Order is invoiced, which updates the Project Ledger.  Any Items being purchased directly to a Project through this process should have the Reordering Policy set to BLANK to avoid duplicating supply orders.

You can upgrade your environment and use new features immediately without having to wait for an automatically set date.
More details: Major update of Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) is available for existing customers
