Related Field not editable on a form in Power Apps

I am editing a form in Power Apps, and am unable to edit any fields listed on the Related drop-down. When I click on an item (Accounts), the properties show up on the right, but the form does not update to the field I selected. This is occurring on all of my forms. I am also unable to edit Related itself. I am also noticing this error when I click on Related: modernLeftNavToolbox_prod?api-version=1, which throws a 404 Not Found. I have never run into this before, I have always been able to edit Related and the fields listed under it. Has anyone incurred this behavior before?

Error Details:
  1. {error: {code: "NonExistentSettingGroup",…}}
      error: {code: "NonExistentSettingGroup",…}
        code: "NonExistentSettingGroup"
message: "The setting group 'modernLeftNavToolbox_prod' does not exist."

Related Field not editable on a form in Power Apps
    Hello JenWariner,

You've encountered a very specific and concerning error in Power Apps form editing, particularly related to the "Related" dropdown and the "modernLeftNavToolbox_prod" setting group. This error, coupled with the inability to edit related fields, indicates a potential issue with your Power Apps environment or the form's configuration.

Here's a breakdown of the problem and troubleshooting steps:

    Understanding the Problem:

    • "Related" Dropdown Issue:

      • The inability to edit the "Related" dropdown or its associated fields is a significant disruption to form customization.
      • The fact that it's happening on all your forms suggests a systemic problem.

    • "modernLeftNavToolbox_prod" 404 Error:

      • This error message is the crucial clue.
      • "modernLeftNavToolbox_prod" refers to a setting group related to the modern left navigation and toolbox within Power Apps.
      • A 404 error indicates that this setting group is missing or inaccessible.
      • This missing setting group is likely the root cause of the "Related" dropdown issue.

    • "NonExistentSettingGroup" Error:

      • This confirms the 404 error and indicates a problem with the Power Apps environment's configuration.

    •

    Possible Causes:

    • Environment Corruption:

      • The most likely cause is some form of corruption within your Power Apps environment.
      • This could be due to a recent update, a failed deployment, or other internal issues.

    • Missing Solution Component:

      • It's possible that a solution component related to the "modernLeftNavToolbox_prod" setting group was accidentally deleted or removed.

    • Permissions Issue:

      • Although less likely, there could be a permissions issue preventing access to the setting group.

    • Service Outage:

      • In rare cases, a temporary service outage or issue on Microsoft's end could cause this problem.

      •

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Check Environment Health:

      • Power Platform Admin Center:

        • Go to the Power Platform Admin Center and check the health of your environment.
        • Look for any alerts or notifications.

      • Service Health Dashboard:

        • Check the Microsoft 365 Service Health dashboard for any reported issues with Power Apps.

    2. Verify Solution Components:

      • Solutions:

        • If you're using solutions, carefully review the components in your solutions.
        • Check for any missing or corrupted components.

      • Default Solution:

        • Check the "Default Solution" for any unexpected changes.

    3. Permissions Check:

      • Security Roles:

        • Verify that your user account has the necessary security roles to access and modify forms.

      • Environment Permissions:

        • Check your environment permissions to ensure you have the appropriate access.

    4. Try a Different Browser:

      • Although unlikely to resolve the "NonExistentSettingGroup" error, try editing the form in a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues.

    5. Create a New Form (Test):

      • Create a new, simple form on a different table to see if the "Related" dropdown issue occurs there as well.
      • This will help determine if the problem is specific to your existing forms or a broader environment issue.

    6. Contact Microsoft Support (Recommended):

      • Create a Support Ticket:

        • This is the most crucial step.
        • The "NonExistentSettingGroup" error indicates a potential issue with your Power Apps environment.

      • Provide Detailed Information:

        • Provide Microsoft Support with:

          • The exact error message.
          • Screenshots of the error.
          • Details about your environment.
          • The steps you took to reproduce the issue.

      • Escalate if Necessary:

        • If you don't receive a timely response, escalate the support ticket.

    7.

    Key Recommendations:

    • Prioritize contacting Microsoft Support. The "NonExistentSettingGroup" error suggests a problem that requires their intervention.
    • Document everything. Keep detailed records of your troubleshooting steps and any error messages.
    • Test in a non-production environment (if possible).

    •

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the root cause of the problem and work with Microsoft Support to resolve it.

Related Field not editable on a form in Power Apps
The "Related" section of the forms behaves differently than the rest of the form, so I wonder if some of the problems stems from confusion on how this works.

    • The "Related" menu itself is automatically populated with menu options based on the relationships to your current table. In your case, this means any other tables with a Many to One relationship with the 'Web Site User' table will have an option appear. Some of these are regular tables, like Accounts, while others are system tables (like Audit log, System Jobs, etc.)
    • You can only hide or unhide items in this menu through the new interface. New options are created through creating new relationships in your database
    • The subgrid that appears when you navigate to the related section is based on the "Associated" system view of the other table. If you want to change the columns that appear, this is the view you need to be updating. While users can switch to another system view, the Associated view will always be the first that shows up
    • You cannot add any columns or fields from your current table to the Related section views. If you need to do this, you should add a new tab to your form and manually add a subgrid of related records.
    • You might have some more luck making changes in the classic form interface, at least I find it easier to use for this menu still

I hope I understood your question. Nothing I see in your screenshot indicates a "corruption" of your environment or anything more serious than not understanding something of a quirk about how the forms work. Let me know if there is anything more specific you are trying to do or need assistance with.
