How to choose where to save a file

On bc 17 using DownloadFromStream I'm downloading a file to the default folder of the browser. Already found out that the toFolder does not work in the Dynamics Nav Web Client.

My question is how can I make it pop up the windows for the user to choose where the file is going to be downloaded instead of being downloaded to the default browser 'downloads' location.

It appears that it is not possible to specify the download / file save path via AL when using the web client.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/methods-auto/file/file-downloadfromstream-method

"ToFolder: This parameter is not supported by the web client. By default, files are saved to the default download location that is configured in the end-user's browser."

It appears you have to manually configure the browser to ask for the save location and the user must choose the path manually.

But if you are able to find a workaround to perhaps default the download path when the user is prompted, I'd be interested to know if that is possible.

Yeah, noticed that as well but I think I might have worded it wrong because want I want is for the save file dialog to open so the user can then choose the path after.

Would have the same result as clicking with the right mouse and "Save link as".

I tried with SaveFileDialog but without success.

The pop up depends on the user browser preference. Go the the browser's setting and there will be option to ask where to save each file before downloading.
