Disable Quick View Form on (+) Sub-Grid and open Main Form instead

Hello everyone,

I want to disable the quick create form from a subgrid (Customer Assests Entity in Field Service) and instead, it should open the “Main form” of the entity.

If the quick create is disabled I am expecting that it will open the main form when they press the “+” icon.

If the above is possible what are the steps that should be done to disable the quick create form and set the default form for the subgrid to be the "Main Form"?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

    Hi EBMRay,

You need to disable Allow quick create of Customer Asset.

1.Navigate to the Settings->Customizations->Customize the System.

2.Click the Customer Asset entity and disable Allow quick create.

If you want to set the default form, you need to click form of Customer Asset and change the main form order.

I created a main form and set it as default form.

    Note:

Disable Allow quick create will make your quick form not pop up anywhere, not only subgrid. If you only want to change the button on subgrid, you could customize the command of it by Ribbon Workbench.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for providing screenshots and an explanation of each step to achieve that.

I have tried what you mentioned and it worked perfectly.

I just have a last concern if you want to pass some parameters to the main form when you click (+) button from Subgrid the customization should be done from Ribbonworkbench with Custom JS?

If so, can you provide an example of a resource showing how to achieve that?

    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Hi EBMRay,

Yes, you need to customize (+) button from Subgrid in Robbin Workbench.

And then pass Primary Control to your JS and use Xrm.Navigation.openForm() function to open your form.

You could refer to these links:
