Mapping a Multi-Select Choice Field

Hello,

We have a multiselect choice field called 'Risks' that gets filled in the Prospect Entity (Prospect Phase of the business flow). Once the prospect is qualified to Opportunity, all the fields are getting mapped correctly except for Risks. I read somewhere that this is because Multi-Select fields do not get mapped to different entities.

Please note that we have more entities/phases in the process flow after Opportunity: Prequalification -> Estimation (also called Quote by default)-> Awarded (also called Order by default). There are also Pipeline and Backlog.

In all of the entities above, it is crucial for Risks that is being filled in Prospect to be mapped to the "Risks" field of each entity.

If I cannot accomplish this by going to Advanced Settings > Customization, how can I achieve it by Javascript?

Thank you in advance.

I have the same question (1)

    Hi Joseph,

You need make sure that the 'Risks' multiselect choice field is global option set field:

    1) Creating one global option set

    2) Then you need create multiselect choice fields on each entities, select the existing option set you just created:

    --Lead(Prospect)

    --Opportunity:

    3)Mapping these fields:

    4)Save and ppublish all customization.

    5)Test:

    Hello Leah,

Thank you for your solution! It worked in Mapping Risks from Prospect -> Opportunity -> Prequalification -> Estimation -> Awarded.

The problem is with Pipeline as the Pipeline record is being created by a Process, not by mapping.

It’s a product limitation. Multi select optionset fields cannot be used in business rules and workflows. I am afraid you have to use power automate flow or a plugin to achieve this.

    Hi Joseph,

Yes, this is the limitation of multiselect choice field.

Refer to the following steps to use power automate to populate multi-select fields automatically:

For example--Lead and Pipeline have 1:N relationship

    1) Build one automated flow in power apps:

    2)Trigger:

    pastedimage1681094843216v2.png

3)Set condition to check lead value:

    pastedimage1681094881066v3.png

    4)Get lead's risks value:

    5)Update the pipleline:

Or you can try to use javascript to set it:
