Load consolidation settings in WAX

Hello,

With the current configuration of my system, when a sales order is released to the warehouse, the wave is automatically executed, the shipment is created and a load is created. I am looking to automatically consolidate these loads if they are going to the same customer.

For example, if I release SO #1 for Customer A, Load Y is created. Currently, if I release SO #2, also for Customer A, Load is created. I am looking for the system to automatically combine loads Y and Z because they are going to the same customer. Is there any way to do this that is native to the system?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

As per my understanding we do it using setting appropriate Shipment template

    Automatic addition status

Select the status in which output orders can be added to the shipment. Output orders can be added when they are in the selected status or a status that is below the selected status.

Select one of the following options:

    •None

    •Registered

    •Reserved

    •Activated

    •Picked

    •Staged

    •Loaded

If you select None, orders are not added automatically.

Please verify and update us if this information is helpful to you.

    Hi ColeCW,

The answer provided by Nitesh is not related to WAX. It is related to Advanced warehouse management (aka WMS II).

Can you indicate if you are using AX 2012 with WAX from Bluehorseshoe or AX 2012 R3 with the new Warehouse management? Microsoft acquired WAX and implemented it in AX 2012 R3, but there are differences. So please update which version you are using.

How're you releasing to the warehouse, by click the Release to Warehouse button on the Sales Order form or are you using the Auto Release to Warehouse batch job under the Periodic menu of the Warehouse Management module?

    ColeCW,

If you're using our solution and not 2012 R3, I'd be more than happy to take this conversation offline with you and assist.  I'll message you my information.

    Hi Rob, ColeCW,

Please update the final answer once it is known in this forum. Please also specify if there are then differences in this area between WAX and WMS in R3.

Unfortunately there is no way to do this when releasing Sales Orders manually via the Sales Order form (this applies to both WAX and AX 2012 R3).  You can however achieve the consolidation logic you're looking for by using the Auto Release to Warehouse batch job under the Periodic menu (this also applies to both WAX and AX 2012 R3).

I looked at the Auto Release to Warehouse batch form and am wondering where the consolidation logic comes in. On the form, there was no consolidation option, so I'm wondering, are there other parameters that need to be enabled for this consolidation to occur upon processing of that batch?

On the Warehouse Management -> Setup -> Parameters form (under Loads on the left-hand side), there is a parameter called "Consolidate loads during wave processing" that should be enabled.
