Could we create virtual table of one dataverse environment to another dataverse environment?

Hello,

We have some requirement where needs to store common data in one of environment and reuse in another environment of same tenant. So as Canvas app, there is the way to collect data by using connector. Is there same way to manage this requirement? I tried to create and map virtual table, but not displaying data and gives me error: An OData error occurred

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Vikas

    Hey.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can connect from one environment to another, even using connectors.  Anyway, this question should be done on PowerPlatform communities Forums - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

    Hi Bipin,

I have followed all steps mentioned in below link for odata4 provider of virtual table.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../virtual-entity-walkthrough-using-odata-provider

I am trying to configured account virtual table(odata v4 provider) table form one of the environment to another environment in same tenant.

    1. Configured odata 4 provider with dataverse 9.2 api

    2. Created new Customer virtual table in target environment having columns accountid and name

    3. Mapped columns with source table columns

    4. Publish customization and  verify customer data in Advanced Find

    5. error: An OData error occurred

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Vikas,

If you can. I would try and query the Dataverse data via Console App, Linqpad or similar.

The dynamics UI is not always the most helpful in the error messages it provides for Virtual Entities.

There is sometimes better information in the FaultException<> thrown by the IOrganisaztionService which might be of help.

One thing to be aware off that confused use for a while. is that when you define the Virtual Entity and define the "Primary Field". The Virtual Entities don't seem to like null values in the OData source data for that field. Regardless of the "Field Requirement" setting (or so it seemed to us).

    Hi,

It is clearly mentioned You can't use the OData v4 Data Provider to connect to another Microsoft Dataverse environment.
