Possible to extend a Task Double pattern Form with an embedded form?

Dear community,

I have a requirement for extension the form query of the standard MCRSalesTableOrderHistory form, which has pattern Task Doule. form in D365. Simply extending the current form query is possible, but is rejected as a solution for this requirement because we would like to preserve standard functionality and standard queries in the form as much as possible without extending it. The alternatives should also not impact user experience. In short: We would like to extend the form with a 7th button (see screenshot) which called a customized data source query (like the standard buttons also doing, but they use the standard dat asources), which should not touch the standard form query, and therefore the only option is that it should call a new customized form. We also would offer our users the same experience as they clicked on our customized button, as with the other buttons in the row. with a 'normal' extension it seems not possible.

The question therefore is if it is possible to extend the form with an embedded form, which is called once the user clicked our customized button?

    Hi Andre,

Your suggestion is right, an extension shouldn't break the standard query. However, due to the implementation policies we are not supposed to do extension on data sources or form queries on forms which are considered as critical by our client. In that cases it's good to know a plan B to continue on this case.  Indeed your suggestion to look into the CustTable is valuable and exactly what we are searching for to use a Form Part inside the form tab.  Thanks!

    Hi DynaERP1.,

I don't understand why an extension will break some standard queries. Maybe if you explain the full details of your requirement, things can become clear.

Anyway, What you mentioned a button is not a button but a tab page. It is possible to extend the MCRSalesTableOrderHistory form where you add a tab page and a form container control. You can then create a separate form for your new requirement which will have all data sources and form design like you need. You can link a menu item to your new form in the form container control.
The CustTable form has examples with Addresses and Contact details how to use the form container control.
